Condom costume sparks hen night brawl May 2000 A bride to be ended up brawling with another woman on a nightclub floor. Jamie Leggat, 23, of Blackburn pleaded guilty to assaulting Julia Kennedy. Miss Kennedy was standing on a podium in Utopia nightclub and there were some verbal exchanges between her and Leggat, who was wearing a dress with inflated condoms tied to it. One of the condoms burst as a result of coming into contact with a cigarette. Tempers deteriorated on all parts and Miss Leggat punched Miss Kennedy in the face. During the struggle that followed , Miss Kennedy suffered a bite to her leg. Miss Leggat was said to be in a good mood and was not causing any trouble when she was burnt by Miss Kennedy’s cigarette and said “ Would you mind not doing that” and then Kennedy burst a condom using the cigarette. Jamie lost her temper and punched Julia. Julia was not shy and retiring in her response and grabbed Jamie’s hair and pulled her to the floor. What followed could only be described as a brawl with hair being grabbed and punches being thrown from both girls. Leggat admitted that at some stage during the grappling that she bit the other girl on the leg in an attempt to get her off.
